Author Ron Shafer

 

Ronald G. Shafer is a former Wall Street Journal reporter and editor now living in Williamsburg, Va., with his wife, Mary Lynch Rogers, the great-granddaughter of  Gunner McGunnigle. Ron was the the Journal’s Washington Political Features Editor and wrote the page-one column the Washington Wire. During his 38 years at the Journal, he also was a reporter in Chicago and Detroit. He is the co-author of several books, including The Complete Book of Home Buying, The New Complete Book of Home Buying, Planning Your Retirement Housing and How To Get Your Car Repaired Without Getting Gypped. He is the author of Minor Memos, a collection of humorous one-liners from the Washington Wire column, and the 30-year and 50-year histories of the McLean, Va., Little League. He has written articles for many publications, including a Sports Illustrated article on his own humorous experiences as a Little League manager. He is a native of Columbus, Ohio, and a graduate of Ohio State University, where he was Editor-in-Chief of the campus newspaper, the Lantern.
