  • 1882 – Brooklyn baseball team is founded by George Taylor and Charles Byrne
  • 1883–  First season in Interstate Association with Taylor as manager
  • 1884–  Enters the major league American Association with Taylor as manager
  • 1888  -   Pioneer baseball player Gunner McGunnigle becomes manager
  • 1889–  Wins first pennant in American Association
  • 1890 – Joins National League, wins first N.L. pennant
  • 1891 – Fires McGunnigle and hires player-manager John Montgomery Ward
  • 1896 – Charles Ebbets becomes club president upon death of Charley Byrne
  • 1899 – Wins second N.L. pennant under manager Ned Hanlon
  • 1900 – Wins third N.L. pennant under Hanlon; Ebbets becomes owner
  • 1912–  Ebbets Field opens
  • 1916-  Wins fourth N.L. pennant
  • 1920- Wins fifth N.L. pennant
  • 1932-   Officially adopts Dodgers name
