- 1882 – Brooklyn baseball team is founded by George Taylor and Charles Byrne
- 1883– First season in Interstate Association with Taylor as manager
- 1884– Enters the major league American Association with Taylor as manager
- 1888 - Pioneer baseball player Gunner McGunnigle becomes manager
- 1889– Wins first pennant in American Association
- 1890 – Joins National League, wins first N.L. pennant
- 1891 – Fires McGunnigle and hires player-manager John Montgomery Ward
- 1896 – Charles Ebbets becomes club president upon death of Charley Byrne
- 1899 – Wins second N.L. pennant under manager Ned Hanlon
- 1900 – Wins third N.L. pennant under Hanlon; Ebbets becomes owner
- 1912– Ebbets Field opens
- 1916- Wins fourth N.L. pennant
